Make sure you're getting a great return on your voice-over investment! In this video, Anne explains where you should spend your money to help you grow the fastest!
Don't waste your money on the wrong things.
Today. I want to talk about return on investment. So if I had to categorize, what is the most important thing that you can invest in that will give you the biggest return? I would say that number one is coaching. When you first start out, because a lot of times for voiceover performance and acting what you, you just don't know what you don't know. So you need to make an investment so that you can get your performance so that it's at a competitive level to compete against everybody that's out there today. So I think the first and foremost investment that will give you the biggest return would be coaching.
After that, I would say probably a demo or samples to put on your website and or to mail out or put in social media that will give your potential clients an idea of what you will sound like, voicing something in the genre that they're looking for, whether it be commercial, promo, corporate narration. So I would say your next big return on investment would be for your demos.
A lot of times people will come into this industry and say that they don't have a lot of money to invest. And for that concern, I just want to say that for any business, there is always an initial investment. And because what we are selling is our voices It's a part of who we are, then we need to invest. Even though it may seem like it could be simply that I can talk. People have always told me I had a great voice. What you really need to do is to learn the craft of how to talk and speak in a brand as if it's natural and believable. And that's not something when they're not your words, that's easy to achieve without training.
And then it's not easy to demonstrate what you would sound like in those particular instances. Without having a demonstration or a demo that showcases what your voice would sound like in a real-life situation, like a commercial or a corporate read.
And the third-best return on investment would be an investment in your marketing strategy, investment in your marketing, starting with a website, because if you're a business in this day and age, and you don't have a website, You are sadly missing out on a lot of opportunities. You need a website that allows you to advertise your business from there, take it to marketing, marketing on social media marketing, emailing direct emails, whatever it takes to market yourself because you can have the best voice in the world and the best demo in the world but if nobody knows about it, they can't hire you.
So to wrap this up the best return on investment. Make sure that you get coaching so that you can invest in your performance, that you can be competitive. Also return on investment would be, to make a great demo, make a great demonstration of what you sound like and present that to your clients. The third would be marketing so that you can tell the world that you exist as a voiceover business, and people can pay you for your services. Thanks so much for watching guys see you next week.
