As a voiceover entrepreneur, you are most likely the sole owner. But someday you're going to need to grow your business. But what's the best way to do that? In this video, Anne talks about how to scale your business.

Growth is a mindset

So today I want to talk to you about how to scale your voiceover business.

First things first, you want to scale your voiceover business you want to grow. So the first thing I suggest is to sit back and take an honest look at your product offerings and your pricing. And I mean, sit down and take an honest look. Are you charging what you're worth? You want to make sure that that is the case. And do you want to make any necessary adjustments in that pricing? If that's not the case and this can be really scary. I get it. I completely get it. When you're new, it might be intimidating to charge what, some people that have been out in the industry for a long time charge.

But it's okay. Remember that you've invested in your business. You've purchased equipment, you've got, you've paid for demos. You've paid for coaching. So I think the very first place to look is your pricing structure and move it up. Kind of investigate the rest of the industry. See where the standards are. Make sure you check the rate guides that are out there. The amazing GVAA rate guide gravy for the brain has a rate guide. And make sure that your pricing is in line.

Okay. Then what I want you to do is increase your pricing, increase it. Not too much, don't jump it up, you know, a hundred percent, but you may want to increase your pricing 20%, 30% to get yourself closer to that standard that's out there. And then I want you to start incorporating that when you are quoting your clients, of course, I've been through this multiple times. Every time I've raised my rates, I get nervous.

"Oh God, did I raise them too high? Is anyone going to bite on these, am I going to get work?" And then when you get someone that takes. Takes that rate and pays it. That is going to give you the confidence that is going to just accelerate and boost your business and really make it easier for you to get the confidence, to keep selling at that rate and selling for what you're worth. Consider what you're going to invest in to help yourself grow in your business. Do you need more coaching? Do you need another demo? Uh, targeted demos, I think are great because if you want to sell yourself into a particular market into a particular genre, you need to have a really great product that you can demonstrate what your voice sounds like.

So invest in coaching, invest in demos, invest in equipment, invest in your students. Everything that's going to make your sound and your performance elevated so that you can meet your client's expectations and not just meet them, but go beyond your client's expectations.

The other thing that you want to consider is maybe outsourcing some of the tasks that you maybe don't find enjoyable or find so that you can then go out and continue marketing yourself to continually get more clients. Okay. So to wrap it up to scale your business, make sure you sit down and take an honest evaluation of what services you offer and what you're charging for those services. Raise those rates within the guidelines of the GVAA rate guides, gravy for the brain rate guides that are out there.

Then I want you to consider how you might invest in outsourcing some of the tasks that can leave you to do the more creative things, including doing more work and going out and grabbing better work for yourself.

Thanks so much. And I'll see you next week.
