Being a voice actor today means you are a small business owner, and it's amazing. Anne shares her perspective about being an entrepreneur.

Loving both sides of the business.

So today I want to talk to you about entrepreneurship.

Yup. It's true. You are not just a voiceover artist. You are an entrepreneur, and that means that it's so much more than just going into your studio and recording auditions and doing jobs all day, you are an entire business. I want you to embrace that. I want you to really take a look at what's involved in running a successful business because if you open your mind up to all the different tendrils of your business, all the different paths of your business. I think it's going to inspire you to want to grow even more.

Now I'm not saying that you have to love doing accounting because we have to do that for our business. You don't have to love marketing, but I want you to open your mind to the thought of entrepreneurship and the exciting challenge that it can deliver to your day when running your business. I love voiceovers period, but I also love the challenge of seeing how I can grow my business. I love the fact that I call myself an entrepreneur. You have a lot to be proud of. You are running a business, you're an entrepreneur.

Feel that challenge feel the invigoration of, how can I do better? Be better perform better today so I can experience more joy out of this. So whether you're part-time or you're full-time it doesn't matter. You can still consider yourself an entrepreneur part-time or full. And I think that embracing that mindset, that entrepreneur mindset, you have a lot of responsibilities and use that momentum to propel my business further and to grow further.

So I don't just obviously run into my studio and just do auditions all day. I'm exploring how I can grow my business even more. Exploring marketing that I've never explored before. Even if I decide I don't like marketing and I hire somebody else to do it, I'm researching how I can reach out to more people so that I can get more business.

So I can do more of the things that I enjoy every day. Keep your mind open to entrepreneurship and call yourself an entrepreneur, not just a voice artist.

See you next week.
