I'm super excited to be kicking off this week with my friends at VO Atlanta! The VO Atlanta Conference, hosted by Founder and Executive Producer Gerald Griffith, has been a staple in the VO Industry since 2013. I have been honored to be a presenter at this conference every year since 2014. People from all over get together to share, network, and grow as a community. Due to the chaos that was the 2020 pandemic, this year we will be gathering virtually. Even though a lot of us will miss the physical in-person conference, this year will be a unique opportunity for us to grow and reach even more people globally, and for that, I am excited. (and honestly, every time we did get together, we all had to fight that Conference crud, and I am kinda thankful that won't be happening in our virtual setting!! )
If you have never attended the conference, I highly recommend it. It's an amazing resource for learning and networking - and the really cool thing is that this year you will get access to all of the videos from the sessions! WHOA - that's cool. Now you can virtually attend as many sessions as you want and not worry if the schedule doesn't allow you to be two places at once- now you can be! Literally hundreds of hours of educational content at your fingertips!
Journey to Resilience
Coming back together stronger than ever, as a community, it seems fitting that this year's theme is Resilience. So many of us have faced challenges this year, and over and over again, I have seen our community rally around those in need. It truly warms my heart.
This year I am once again honored to present two VO Peeps Scholarships to two very deserving Peeps - Jeffrey Baker and Stephanie Matard . The VO Peeps have been offering scholarships to VO Atlanta since 2014, and I am so grateful to Gerald Griffith for his unwavering support and or providing such a wonderful resource to the community. I am also honored to be a part of the Brad Venable VO Atlanta Scholarship this year, celebrating the Life & Spirit of Brad Venable, along with Cliff Zelman and Carin Gilfry. Brad was an integral part of the conference and we all miss him dearly. Congratulations to our scholarship recipient Lara Woodhull - make sure to check out her video of how Brad was able to help her in her journey into voiceover. And finally, I am honored to be a part of the VO Atlanta Unicorn Grant that helps to give back to an outstanding member of the community who helps others in need.
